I’m new to everything including the business end of it all. I’m a single mom with three kids my ex-husband passed away last September and my fiancé just passed away so I’m going through a lot and a blog would be a good vent but if I make money off it I need to know how to file it for taxes and who knows I might actually like doing it and consider making it my job, but this was helpful and I am still doing research.

That’s helpful! I will reach out anyways as I probably will probably hire out our taxes next year and need to know everything I need to be doing. Thanks!

Hey June, there’s a lot that goes into tax calculation when you add other factors beyond just the business – so if you know you’re already receiving a refund, quarterly taxes aren’t necessary. Check out the IRS’ publication 505 for details that apply to your situation or feel free to contact me directly 🙂

Last year I paid one small payment. We are a family of 7 now (4 dependents in 2018) and we have always received a sizeable refund as our income is small relative to family size. My question is: if you know you’ll be getting a big refund even with extra income (esp. with the doubled child tax credit this year) are you still expected to pay quarterly taxes? Thanks!

Yeah the whole online business world has become a sort of “Wild West” now that everything is so connected.
