That said, I do know some people who get the degree to check off a bucket list item or to pursue the education in and of itself, so there are other forms of compensation than money. If you do a straight ROI, you will rarely come out ahead with a graduate degree b/c of the school costs but also the opportunity cost of not delaying/ suspending your career for the years of schooling.
