Cellulite really isn’t a skin condition, but what shows on the skin because of what is going on inside the body. With so many numerous and advanced products and techniques available on the market today, cellulite can truly be a thing in your past.
Because cellulite, that lumpy bumpy orange peel looking skin, is caused by many factors; such as, genetics, sedentary lifestyle, hormonal changes, poor dietary habits and even stress, there really is no one thing to get rid of cellulite. The good news is that there are products and treatments and strategies to incorporate into your daily routine that will most certainly combat it; leaving you with smoother, firmer and cellulite free skin.
Odds are you have cellulite or know someone close to you that does. This is simply because it is estimated that at the very least 90% of all women suffer from it. Yes, suffer! So much so that many women have not put on a pair of shorts on or a sleeveless blouse on for many, many years; even in the hottest of hottest of weather.
Here are three simple, effective ways to begin combating the ‘dimples’ in your thighs, buttocks, tummy and even upper arms.
1. Massage. A great place to start and a proven way to obtain results is through frequent and vigorous massage. Starting with a great cellulite reduction cream is crucial in the massage process to reducing cellulite. Because the many active ingredients will help to penetrate and flush out inflammation and excessive waste and impurities sitting around the fat cells, this will ultimately lead to smoother, firmer and cellulite free skin. Be sure to massage cellulite cream into problem areas vigorously, always ending with long strokes toward the heart. Also, it is recommended to drink at least eight ounces of water after each application.
2. Caffeine. More than likely your cellulite reduction cream will contain caffeine. Caffeine helps to rev up the circulation as well as help the other ingredients in the cellulite cream to penetrate deeper into the skin. Revving up the reduction cream by adding some additional caffeine can really boost the ingredients in the cream to do a better job; getting even better results.
Here’s one way to add caffeine to your cellulite reduction cream: add 1 tsp. of freeze dried instant coffee to 2 ounces of the cream and mix until the coffee has blended in completely. Vigorously massage into problem areas, cover with plastic wrap to keep from staining your clothes and to keep the areas warm. Now put on a pair of tight fitting leggings and go about your day. Leave on for at least 60 minutes. Unwrap, wipe off excess (remember the cream with the coffee may stain).
Another quick way (although a bit messy) is to take your favorite body wash, mix with a little coconut oil and add coffee grounds to make a scrub paste. While standing in the shower/bathtub “scrub” your problem areas with your coffee scrub paste, wrap with plastic wrap, and allow mixture to stay on skin for at least 10 minutes, while you brush your teeth, wash your face or shampoo your hair. Then simply remove the plastic wrap (while standing in your shower/bathtub) and wash about the scrub.
3. When life hands you cellulite, make lemon tea! First thing in the morning upon rising and before every meal, be sure to drink 8 ounces of hot filtered water with the juice of ½ of a lemon. This will help to detox your liver as well as alkaline your body helping your body to flush the waste and impurities from around and between the fat cells.
