  1. It’s true my eating patterns changed by itself the more I became spiritual I go to the supermarket and I cannot buy meat or other things I use to buy before like milk

  2. "If you prefer the avoiding of delays and disturbing things, it is enough to stop those wrong directions, what are never works well. Those are not haps.
    Spiritual teachings and guides – About Presence – Spiritual presence is with you while you are without probleming. Here is how can you provide that. Spiritual presence can be provided by a self-informing excercise. Without it you can not be with Spiritual Presence by your choice for longer periods of time. Your thought-streams are not affected only by your thoughts, but affected by all things what you experiencing – by experiencing of life. That is a mixture, not just optimal content for hold Presence, and this is why is important to use your choiced thoughts to modify the content of the thought-stream about you and your current experience, and about your next moment, minutes, hours, etc., then, when it is neccessary. The modifying of it to a type what saves well-being, what you like, that is the essence, and that can be provided by informing yourself about your ensured current safeness and well-being. You can do the informing of yourself by words or thoughts, or also with other things – the essence is to keep yourself with understood information about you are in safeness now, your life is in right direction now, and you have no info with you now about this process and situation will not continue. You can use inner instruments to help this, or you can use outers also, the essence is the continuous informing of yourself about these – of course you can use your own words also for this purpose. As you see, this is a doing from you, an excercise. There are pauses in this informing excercise. When you feel reliably enough the sure continuity of the wellbeing what is in you, then you can keep pause in the informing excercise temporary. In this case, happenings can happen as they are for seconds or minutes well, also without the owerwriter helper narration or other instruments. In this case, time is not optimal to make change in you by the excercise, because the type of wellbeing is better in you than to risk the lost of it's good quality for longer time (for a minute or more), as a result of an added narration or else excessive interruption. So, the excercise is not a continuous doing as you see, altough it is your daily saver if you using it, it is not hard of course, and it can cause elongated safe-sourced well-being, it can cause spending time without probleming, and the time you spending without probleming, that is spiritual presence."   3. Just a present, friendly reminder to keep in mind that hunters and the department of natural resources in the USA preserve and control the population of wildlife and nature. It wasn't always like this, but it must be, in order for there to not be a holocaust or complete depletion of both. So while you may be vegan or vegetarian, someone out there is hunting so you can enjoy your vegetables and way of life. Yes, even if you grow your own garden. The reason you are able to is because of hunters/ DNR. They are one in the same.

Diet in spirituality has less to do with ahimsa and more to do with yogic and ayurvedic theory in which meat, eggs and certain spices (namely: nightshades, garlic/onions/other allium family herbs) are avoided because of the way they affect spiritual energy in the body and also how they affect the mind states or "gunas" according to these systems. It is usually advised to eat foods that promote "sattva guna" (balance/clarity/purity) rather than "rajas" (activity) and "tamas" (passivity).
    In my own experience the Sattvic diet as it is called, does make a significant difference but you have to adhere to it for several weeks or months to reach its full effect. Most vegetables, grains, seeds, nuts, fruits, and some dairy products are sattvic. Many spices are rajasic but some are sattvic such as ginger, fennel, cinnamon, coriander, turmeric, basil etc. There are also many medicinal plants that promote sattva guna as well such as ashwagandha, tulsi, gotu kola, bacopa, shatavari, and many others.

  5. If you are eating meat or dairy. Your food choices are causing suffering to the environment, animals, and your body. Everyone is at a different place with their spiritual journey, but I believe everyone's goal should be to eat the least amount of animal products as possible. Going vegan was a powerful part of the awakening process in my experience. Meditate and ask yourself if you want to cause suffering, I'm guessing the answer is no.

  6. So true. I'm now on a plantbased diet. I would never have considered it five years ago. It wasn't until I was awoken and put on this spiritual journey that brought me to where I am today with my relationship to food choices. It was a natural evolution.

  7. Your Spirit Body "Within" you KNOWS what is Good and Right for you to Eat. This is who you should listen to. Just Ask and then Listen! If you get something wrong..your body will tell you!

  8. I eat meat several times a week and enjoy it. I also eat and enjoy raw fruit and vegetables on a daily basis. I would be a vegetarian, but I am unable to digest dairy, nuts, gluten, etc. I expect by the end of the 21st, only the very wealthy will eat meat, while the masses consume meat-like substitutes. For me, poor digestion is the greatest impediment to spiritual growth, so I TRY to only consume foods that digest well, which, interestingly, includes lean meat (beef, poultry and fish). I appreciate Eckhart's measured and insightful response.

    Knew Tolle would have some great stuff to say on this critical issue. Did not disappoint. The answer does not come from from without (an abstract guideline) it comes from within.

  10. I guess we should discuss how lions are bad for chasing and killing zebras. Birds for eating worms and eagles for eating snakes. This reality eats and excretes itself. It is not right nor wrong, it is what it is. I bless the food I eat and heal whatever joins with me. Soon the body will be food for plants, no need to judge the body that eats meat and you are not superior because you dont. This is the egos world and it is meaningless, it will forever be unless it ends. Stop trying to be relevant, nothing you do will make you better and neither will the world be better for it. We are no different from carrots. Our true nature is NO SELF.

  11. Even the wonderful and fabulous Eckhart Tolle can find himself out of his element. This man has helped me greatly, but he didn't really answer the question. For one thing, Hitler's "vegetarianism" has been convincingly debunked. My guess is that Eckhart has spent little time with the philosophies that ground diet as it relates to earth and animal protection. They're rich and varied, and some are ancient. Too, I wish people who assume vegans think they're better than everyone else (a point that quickly arises around these issues ~ and yes, granted, a few do act that way) would look into them as well.

  12. This is so wonderful to see in video. In my life, tea is also food. The understanding of what tea I am drinking, who picked it, how it was prepared, stored, transported, and what I do with it, are things that keep me grounded. Living with tea has lead to many other teachings. And helped me be as vegan as possible. I don’t need anything else.

  13. How 'bout just treating others with kindness regardless of whether they are human or otherwise. Not sure why the answer needs to be more complicated than that. One will then be able to decide if they want to eat a dead animal for dinner. Of course though there are vegetarians who are not as concerned about other people. The answer is to be loving to all.
